Farmer Fred Day - Saturday, August 6th

All Day - Hay Mow Jump: Kids can jump into piles of hay. Rakes available to help rake the hay into piles.

 

  • 2pm and 4:30pm - Nursery Feedings
  • 1pm - Snake Handling Demonstration and Interesting Facts by Parker Space.
  • 1:30pm - Farmer Fred talks about the hay produced at Space Farms for the hoof stock, along with planting corn and a demonstration on an antique corn planter and the big John Deer Tractor. Afterwards, Sit on the Big Green John Deere Tractor with Farmer Fred. Kids will have the opportunity to plant a corn seed to take home and grow for the birds and squirrels in their own back yards.

Scavenger Hunt Day - Saturday, August 13

Each child will be given a Scavenger Hunt sheet with things to find and knowledge to seek! When the child returns the completed Scavenger Hunt to the admissions desk they will receive a free* bag of animal feed.

 

  • 2pm and 4:30pm - Nursery Feedings
  • 3pm - Enrichment Play Time for the Animals- bears, lions, tigers and monkeys receive ice blocks to play with.

Teddy Bear Day - Saturday, August 20th

 

  • Any child that brings a teddy bear receives free admission (when accompanied by an adult).
  • 1pm - Snake Handling Demonstration and Interesting Facts by Parker Space.
  • 2pm - 3pm - Spend the afternoon with La La the Clown. Kids will be entertained by La La's magic powers and ability to make lions and tigers disappear (okay maybe just bunnies) in addition to animal sing alongs.
  • 2pm and 4:30pm - Nursery Feedings.
  • 3pm - Teddy Bear Contest

Avian Activity Day- Saturday, August 27th

Children will receive a scavenger hunt list specific to birds, prompting them to visit the bird enclosures and observe birds at the Waterfowl Lake.

 

  • 2pm and 4:30pm - Nursery Feedings
  • 1pm - Snake Handling Demonstration and Interesting Facts by Parker Space.
  • 2 pm - A chat to help children identify bird shapes, types by beak and feet, nests and eggs, etc. Hands on activity to build a bird's nest out of twigs.
  • 3:30pm - Enrichment Play Time for the Animals- bears, lions, tigers and monkeys receive ice blocks to play with.
